:iconcalvinplz: & :iconhobbesplz: Aw, gee... I remember when I was 3, and I was first interested in a certain section of an old newspaper my mom had lying around. It was a Sunday, and I found a comic that featured a little kid and his tiger. I couldn't quite read yet (I sorta taught myself through the comic, and read with and to people with it ^^), but I remember seeing that the tiger was drawn two different ways, and the two were in a wagon. A few years later, I found a set of books in the bottom shelf of our bookcase while my mom was out somewhere with her boyfriend, and instantly recognized the characters. Calvin and Hobbes, or at the time, due to the fact that I was still learning the find word pronunciation, I called it "Kevin and Hobies" until I was corrected sometime after. Eventually, those books were given to me, and I would look forward to free time to flip through them, seeing their adventures, seeing Calvin's imagination run wild, and even ended up "adopting" my own imaginary friend, who is a stuffed rabbit toy named "Flopsy", whom I've had for over 12 years now... and I have no plans of getting rid of her. ^^ I see that we have a lot of wonderful fanart here on DA, so I will place the best, the beautiful, the wonderful, the indispensable, and the authoritative (lol, the last two are a reference to my favorite collections books ^^ ) tributes that best capture the world that I still visit every chance I can open those books. Though the series has long since died in it's run, as long as people can find a copy of the books, stumble across as strip online, or those of us who can share them with others we meet, Calvin and Hobbes will always be around .
